September 11th, 2001 was one of the most devastating days in our nations history. We were attacked to our very core when two planes flew into the Twin Towers, causing over 3,000 deaths within hours.
At the 9/11 memorial in New York, this display stands tall, and it has a transcript of a phone call from a man who is approaching death after he realizes that his place has just been hijacked.
“Hey Jules, this is Brian. Ah, listen… I’m on an airplane that has been hijacked. If things don’t go well, and they’re not looking good, I want you to know that I absolutely love you. I want you to do good, have good times, same with my parents. I’ll see you when you get here. I want you to know that I totally love you. Bye, babe, hope I will call you.”
The man’s name was Brian Sweeney, and he was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175.
This is simply a reminder to hold tight to your loved ones while you still can. You never know what can happen, and it’s important to cherish every single day that you have on this earth.
